LF Sponsors the ICC's Anniversary Event

Lucid Fusion is proud to be a sponsor of "30 Rocks!" which celebrates the Irvine Chamber of Commerce's 30th Anniversary on May 30. This monumental occasion is a unique opportunity to commemorate three decades of the Chamber’s commitment to Irvine’s growth and development and bring together Irvine residents, local business professionals, and civic leaders.
The celebration begins on May 30 at 6:00 p.m. until 10:00 p.m. at Irvine Marriott’s Tuscany Room. The Chamber has pulled out all the stops and attendees can look forward to plenty of dancing; an opportunity drawing with plenty of lavish prizes; DJ music; a full bar; themed food stations; and a multitude of fun surprises. In addition to the hours of entertainment, attendees can join the City of Irvine and the Chamber in honoring Irvine’s Citizen of the Year and the Chamber’s Jamie Trevor, Member of the Year, and Business Leadership award winners. The cost is $75 per person but table sponsorships are also available. As an added bonus, every 30th online registrant for this event will receive a complimentary admission for one.

WHAT YOU LIKE MOST ABOUT YOUR JOB: I get to wear a lot of hats, from being involved in the creative process to running the day-to-day business. FAVORITE TV COMMERCIAL AND WHY: I have to say the E*Trade commercials are pretty brilliant, especially the one with the baby singing “Broken Wings,” because anyone who knows me knows that I often break into song in the middle of conversations, and I can’t sing to save my life!
FUNNIEST JOKE YOU KNOW: A guy’s wife gets hit by a car, and he calls 911. The operator asks: “Where are you?” He replies, “Eucalyptus Street.” The operator asks, “Can you spell that for me?” The guy pauses and says, “Well, I’ll just drag her over to Oak Street so you can pick us up there.”

WHAT YOU LIKE MOST ABOUT THE IRVINE CHAMBER OF COMMERCE CROSSWORD PUZZLE CAMPAIGN: The challenge of creating a crossword puzzle that would be respected by those who regularly work puzzles. We didn’t want it to be too novel or too easy to solve.
WHAT YOU LIKE MOST ABOUT YOUR JOB: At Lucid Fusion, I feel like I matter. I feel respected and heard. I love our team because we all look out for each other; it really does feel like a family. Plus, we have a hula-hoop.
FAVORITE TV COMMERCIAL AND WHY: I’m terrible at choosing favorites. A few of my favorite campaigns have been Apple’s Mac vs. PC, E*Trade’s talking baby and anything by Jack in the Box. Oh, and my mom and sister would be upset if I didn’t mention the Jeep Liberty one with the animals singing Andy Kim’s “Rock Me Gently.”
FUNNIEST JOKE YOU KNOW: From the E*Trade baby outtakes on its Web site: One baby boy says to another, “No, so her online profile says she’s five-eleven. And I’m like – pounds, maybe!”

The 2009 OC ADDY Awards were held on March 21 at the Irvine Marriot. Lucid Fusion was honored with two awards by the OC Ad Federation, formerly known as the OC Ad Club. LF took home a silver addy for the AXIS Global Partners stationary package as well as a merit award for the BaccHus Development "Warning Ad."
Zubin Mowlavi, LF CEO, Comments on How-To Startup, Howcast

An excerpt from an article by Jon Cook, of Reuters, in regard to generating traffic for start-up websites.
"Zubin Mowlavi, the founder and CEO of new media marketing company Lucid Fusion, is very impressed by Howcast and the viral nature of the video content. Mowlavi also said Howcast's digital platform is superior to most of the how-to video sites he has come across.
Mowlavi, whose company has produced cutting-edge marketing campaigns for the likes of Sage, Kenwood, Redbull, Sirius and Sony Pictures Classics, feels Howcast's biggest challenge will be marketing their content. He suggests partnering with agencies and media companies that have clients whose content they could augment with Howcast videos.
Mowlavi suggests that ultimately it may just come down to timing and having that one video that hits at the right time and brings in crazy traffic numbers.
'If there's something that's timely that they can address that has real value for people, then I think it will get those first-time users to go to the site and then continue to reference it.'"
